Title/Journal Title Search in Advanced Search


A Title Search in IndexCat is a keyword search for terms in the title field in all records. Titles from all item (record) types are included: monographs, dissertations, analytic (journal articles), journal titles, and portraits.

To perform a Title or Journal Title search:

    1. Click on the Advanced search tab on the main search page and select Title/Journal Title Search in the drop down list

    2. Type the title keyword(s) you want to search in the Advanced Search box

    3. From the drop-down list, select whether you want to search for:

    4. Use 'As a phrase' to search for exact titles

    Example: To retrieve Traumas of the back and spine by F.E. Pierce

    OR

    5. Journal titles are not searched in a separate category.

    6. If you know an Index Catalogue Journal Title Abbreviation, search it by combining the parts of the code in an 'All of these' search.
