Collection Results

The Collection Results page shows summary results after you execute a Quick Search or Advanced Search. It automatically displays as searches are executed.

1. You see results for each collection.

2. Each Series in IndexCat is considered a collection.

3. When you select the Index Catalogue collection at the title level without specifying a series, you receive results divided by series.

4. For large retrieval sets, IndexCat returns partial results and updates as it continues to search the database.

5. When the search is complete, the Collection Results page shows either:

• The total number of records that qualify in your search for each collection searched or
• The current maximum retrieval of 1000 records for each collection or
• 'No Results' for a null search or
• An error message such as 'Search Failed' or 'Search Incompatible'. Mistakes in search order or incorrect use of boolean operators may cause these errors.

Use the Collection Results tab to return to the summary results after using Results List or a Record Display. The Collection Results are retained until you press the Quick or Advanced Search tabs.
